The Brazilian market is dominated by small displacements, where road and enduro engine capacity of between 125 and 300 cc motorcycles are the most popular by audiences of all ages. Yamaha, presiding over the important South American market with several models of small engines, one of which, the YS250 Fazer, was recently presented in version 2011 .
version 2010, still in the list in Brazil with the designation “Limited Edition”, is completely identical to those sold in our market as YBR250 (also available in 125 cc version), and is therefore likely that the slight restyling adopted for single-cylinder Yamaha Street be introduced next year, even in European markets.
The differences between old and new models affected almost exclusively as aesthetic, as mechanically we are still facing a known reliable bike with double cradle steel frame is associated with a 37 mm telescopic forks and a monoshock with progressive linkage.
The engine is a single cylinder 249 cc capable 21-hp at 8,000 rpm and 20.7 Nm 6,500 rpm, with power injection and electronic air cooling. Braking is entrusted to two discs, 282 mm dual-piston front caliper, 220 mm single-piston caliper at the rear, an innovation that, since the earlier version includes a brake drum.
Speaking of the Brazilian model – since we have a version 2011 has not yet been made – the difference to the YS250 Fazer 2010 concern as aesthetics, with superstructures most appealing and modern. The headlamps are now virtually the same as XJ6N, as well as the design of the nice equipment, with analog tachometer and LCD for the speedometer and fuel gauge.
Remain unchanged in shape only tank and lifting platforms with associated supports, but change the front splitter is that the side panels and tail, which now ends with a nice LED light (without direction indicators integrated) and a handle on the more modern form. Finally, new design for the wheels, no more than three races but split five split spokes, lighter, not only of sight.
The YS250 Fazer 2011 is already on sale in Brazil in the network of 539 official dealers at a price of 10,950 Real, at around 4264 euros, while the “old” 2010 model Limited Edition, still in it, is on sale at 10,074 Real, at around 3923 Euro.
