Debuting in 2010 Motodays the new FZ8 Yamaha, the bike with which the house of the three tuning forks has chosen to expand the proposal to date consist of naked XJ6, FZ6 and FZ1. With 779 cc, four cylinders, the FZ8 comes therefore within range of Kawasaki Z750, offering a modern (though clearly inspired by FZ1) and interesting technical content.

Diecast aluminum frame, aluminum swingarm and wheelbase “limited” to 1.460 mm, the FZ8 is home to a 779 cc engine born with the idea of creating the ideal balance between easy dispensing of 600 and a pair of “snapshot” of one-liter engines.

FZ8 on Nutrition and Fazer 8 is supported by electronics, with electronically controlled secondary throttle that joins the main one to ensure a further check on the volume of air aspiration. The values of cylinder bore and stroke of 68.0 mm x 53.6 mm. The data on the number of revolutions of the engine and the opening of the butterfly are processed in real time from a control unit that operates a dedicated servo control of the secondary butterflies, to optimize the volumetric efficiency at all engine rpm. And it is this one of the technical features that guarantee excellent thrust at low revs.

Another factor that enhances the elasticity of the engine is the 7.8 liter airbox, where the air ducts have two different lengths: the cylinder 1 and 4 have collectors of 125 mm and cylinders 2 and 3 by 150 mm, ideal for couples wanting to spend and constant throughout the period of disbursement.

The maximum power is 106.2 HP at 10,000 rpm, and torque maximum of 82.0 Nm at 8,000 rpm. The engine is responsive and full of torque from low revs, and when the rounds lead up to the red zone Yamaha promises all the grit typical engine Iwata.

The engine is fully compliant with Euro 3 emissions regulations, due to short muffler mounted side and the exhaust 4in2in1 with a honeycomb catalytic converter positioned at the point of intersection of the manifolds. An oxygen sensor provides real-time information to the controller, moment by moment to adjust the air / fuel mixture, optimizing efficiency and reducing emissions.

From a cycling point of view, the front bearing a fork stems 43 mm upside-down, while the rear suspension architecture Monocross Yamaha progressive linkage. The two front disc brakes with 310 mm are floating, and feature four-piston monobloc calipers. The rims are aluminum, five spoke, the front tire is 120/70 ZR17, rear 180/55 ZR17. Among the interesting points you signal the saddle height, positioned at 815 mm from the ground.

The new Yamaha FZ8 is a price Euro 8190, ex-dealer.
