New 1190RR is, in fact, the first motorcycle produced by Erik Buell after closure of the famous brand of American sports from the parent company Harley Davidson. It is certainly not a completely new product, but for the tightrope walker engineering motorcycle is basically a return to origins, when in the small of his workshop came prototypes capable of winning many of the major North American races.
The Erik Buell Racing 1190RR is not a prototype for all purposes, as based on the 1125 Buell Naked cooled liquid, but some concepts to extremes of technical and mechanical racing version (1125R and 1125RR) that Buell had already achieved for clients ready to take street races of the AMA American Superbike (ASB).
The main difference is undoubtedly the displacement of the engine: from the previous 1125 cc. Indeed, the 72 ° V-twin made in Austria by Rotax has led to displacement of 1190 cc, bringing the 103 to 106 mm bore and 67.5 mm while maintaining a ride.
Four valves (42 mm intake, 35.4 mm exhaust), operated by a dual overhead cam head, liquid-cooled, and powered by a sophisticated electronic fuel injection with 61mm throttle bodies, the new engine is capable of developing 185 hp at the wheel at 11,500 rpm.
A heart is extremely powerful, especially because the changes allowed by the regulation are less extreme than those reserved for the WSBK – where some have even used the folds of the regulation to change the type of distribution … – Held at bay by a twin-spar aluminum frame reviewed in some detail.
Now there is the possibility, for example, adjusting the steering angle increasing from 21 ° canonical product Buell to a more “open” 22.5 ° , thus ensuring a variation of interaction, which can go from 1,400 mm to 1,460 mm in the original configuration more “stable”. The suspension is handled by a fork Race Showa 43 mm upside down, and a shock also made in Showa pluriregolabile.
As always finds a place under the brake disc perimeter of 387.5 mm semi-floating bitten by forceps 8 pins. Behind, however, works a more traditional 240 mm combined with a twin piston caliper. Also excellent rims, magnesium six races, characterized by the diameter 17 “and a channel of 3.5-inch front and 6″ behind.
Lovers of numbers, finally, we point out that the new hull racing Buell weighs very little: 163.29 kg in Cleaning.
