Bones 280th TR 2010

As we had anticipated at the end of October was presented at the Milan show the new Bones TR280i, a trial bike innovative and advanced technical features, designed by Spanish company that revived until the early seventies was the star fields notice of this spectacular specialty.

TR280i On the typical components of a motorcycle were redistributed according to a layout that takes into account from first to last element of the typical requirements of the trial. So for example the air filter is very high and easily accessible while the petrol tank (3 liters capacity) is front and below, incorporated into the aluminum structure descending from the headstock.

Even the radiator coolant is positioned to be protected from shocks and a maximum that was possible by tilting the cylinder is very backward, while leveraging the solution to achieve a system of admission of the mixture directly into the crankcase and front. If they have benefited as a consequence, the power system to electronic fuel injection which has thus come to a better position to better weight distribution.

The engine is a small miracle of compactness and stiffness, with a one-piece casing that extends into part low to form the “closure” of the lightweight chassis in steel (pipes descendants) and aluminum (steering head and front plates and below), all protected by a thin but durable paramotor. It is however a single-cylinder 2-stroke 272.2 cc (bore x stroke 76×60 mm) with 6-speed gearbox and clutch in oil bath, hydraulically operated.

Was the solution chosen for the exhaust system and suspensions. Since the rods, the “sides” of reversed intake and exhaust, the collector goes out near the rear shock absorber and flows in a silencer shaped like the rear fender, use this potential space above the rear wheel. The rear shock is Ohlins TTX technology derived from motocross and developed specifically for the trial, while the fork is a Marzocchi upside-down from 40 mm (a novelty in the trial, which is customarily used for conventional forks more advantageous in terms of angle steering), also developed ad hoc for the new Bones TR280i and blocked by aluminum plates.

A lot of news all together are the result of a cutting-edge project and somewhat daring. For this reason, while the project was considered and is approaching the stage of testing (tests will begin in December) on the other the mass production and marketing are planned for ‘summer 2010.
