The CBR600F 2011 celebrating the return of a historic symbol for the Honda brand in a market where the super sports are becoming more specialized. The history of Honda CBR600F is studded with enormous success, both sales and sports. For nearly two decades, in fact, the Japanese sport has been a true icon of the market, widely praised for his outstanding balance between performance and comfort. In the early 2000, however, the demands of the sport and tourist were made progressively more distant and Honda began to think of two different paths to its CBR. The first hint of a revolution was the CBR 600F Sport in 2001 that differed from the model based purely on an aesthetic level. In 2003 came the “Copernican revolution” caused by the CBR600RR, motorcycle who dug out all the leagues Supersport which he participated, and the development of the CBR600F was arrested, until the final departure of a few seasons ago.
The new CBR600F is dedicated to customers who want a bike that looks sporty, yet versatile and undemanding and shares with the Hornet 2011, the basic chassis and engine. The design the CBR600F was developed in the center Honda R & D in Italy in Rome, at the hands of the designer Valerie Aiello who made an elegant sport that point, however, not to appeal after losing a season or two.
The engine that drives the CBR600F is a direct descendant of that of the CBR600RR in 2007 and provides 102 hp, with an output manageable even by less experienced pilots. The chassis is common throughout the Hornet, and then find the valuable central girder frame in light alloy, with Showa fork 41 mm upside-down, adjustable preload and rebound. The rear swingarm has a robust light alloy with two arms that operates directly in the shock absorber, adjustable spring preload (progressive) and in the rebound.
The braking system incorporates a pair of 296 mm floating discs up front with two-piston calipers and a single disk 240 mm at the rear. Given the bike’s sporty image, in our opinion it deserved a caliper brake system with higher quality. Fortunately, there is an option in the ABS system, which provides a more sophisticated components for the front calipers.
